Tarot Card Protection Tarot cards are a tool used by many people to see into past, present, and future situations. They should be well cared for when they are not in use. When my mother gave me my first set of tarot cards, she instructed me to keep them wrapped in a silk scarf I had. It wasn't until years later that I found out that silk offers protection from outside energies, energies that you my not want mingled in with your own. Small silk scarves can be found in many craft stores. If none are available, purchase a 1/4 yard of silk from a fabric store and either sew it into a square scarf or make a silk pouch for your deck. Once the tarot cards are wrapped in silk, it is said that you should place them inside a small box. Most craft stores carry plain wooden boxes for crafters to paint and decorate. Measure your tarot deck and purchase a wood box that is slightly larger than the measurements so that it can hold the deck when it is wrapped in silk. Decorate your tarot box in any way you see fit. You can paint it, use decoupage, a woodburner, etc. Whatever you do, you will pour your energies into the box and, ultimately, your tarot deck. |
