Corn Husk Broom One night, after making several corn dolls, I stared at all my scraps and wondered if there was anything more I could make from the mess. Voila! Little brooms. These are simple to make and get a bit addicting. I've little brooms all over my house now. Even the kids are sick of them. Items Needed:
1. Soak corn husk scraps in warm water. Once soaked, prepare husks by fringing one end as shown above.
2. Wrap the non-fringed edge around the stick. Add a few layers of fringed husk and then tie very very tightly into place as shown above.
3. With a thin strip of husk, wrap and tie around the string to cover it up. Allow to dry for about one week. Copyright 2002, Eliza Fegley |
