Corn Husk Broom

One night, after making several corn dolls, I stared at all my scraps and wondered if there was anything more I could make from the mess. Voila! Little brooms. These are simple to make and get a bit addicting. I've little brooms all over my house now. Even the kids are sick of them.

Items Needed:
Dried scraps of corn husk
Bowl filled with warm water
Scissors
String
Sticks

1. Soak corn husk scraps in warm water. Once soaked, prepare husks by fringing one end as shown above.

2. Wrap the non-fringed edge around the stick. Add a few layers of fringed husk and then tie very very tightly into place as shown above.

3. With a thin strip of husk, wrap and tie around the string to cover it up.

Allow to dry for about one week.
